What is BDSM?

It’s hard to answer this question due to the thousands of diverse practices that encompass this abbreviation and also because of the multitude of variations among the relationships between partners that practice BDSM. We will try to clarify the term as simple as possible.

BDSM contains relationships and activities in the areas of Bondage & Discipline, Domination & Submission and Sadism & Masochism and countless nuances around those terms. Simply said – BDSM contains most flavors that people add to their intimate relations in order to enhance the taste. Those are activities that arouse people whether physically, emotionally or mentally.

There’s an important aspect that differentiates BDSM from any kind of violence or other illegal activity. Everything that the partners do needs to be Safe, Sane and Consensual. If any of those three elements is missing, that activity can be viewed as violence and criminal, and it absolutely is NOT OK in the BDSM communities. Those are the BDSM principles that you can find under the abbreviation SSC. Each activity aims to bring satisfaction and realisation of the partners’ dreams.

In short – who doesn’t want more pleasure? The BDSM culture gives a solution for many people.
